Downtown Garland has undergone an extensive reconstruction of its downtown square, and it is all set to reopen with a grand event this fall. This revitalization comes after a challenging period of dealing with the impact of COVID and navigating over a year of construction, which was a source of both fear and excitement for the downtown businesses.
Working closely with the City of Garland, CivicBrand developed the new Downtown Garland brand. The team is eagerly anticipating the square’s reopening and witnessing the brand truly come to life. To ensure a successful launch, we engaged with residents, business owners, and visitors, seeking their valuable input on the history and future of downtown Garland. Additionally, CivicBrand designed and hosted a pop-up placemaking event to foster excitement and anticipation about the upcoming changes.
The implementation plan encompassed a comprehensive brand system, construction communications plan, placemaking strategies, digital marketing strategy, a 4-part documentary series showing the behind-the-scenes development of the new brand, and tools for managing and measuring the success of the brand. The result is a vibrant and rejuvenated Downtown Garland that promises to be a welcoming and thriving hub for the community.
